Man Arrested For Attempting To Disrupt Satellite For Free Gas

Anteaus Washington

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI) – Fairview Heights police have arrested a Anteaus Washington, 21 for trying to trick a gas station computer into giving him free gas.  The man climbed on top of the BP gas station at the 6400 block of N. Illinois street.  He was trying to tamper with the satellite dish on the top of the building.  

A driver going past the building and called police and reported the suspect’s description. He called because the situation looked a little strange.   The caller said the man had gotten out of a car and climbed onto the roof.  The car was parked in the parking lot of the gas station and he had two men waiting inside for him.

Fairview Heights police officers came to the scene and to find Anteaus had fled.  The two other occupants of the suspects car were still at the scene.  Anteaus Washington was located a short time later.  He was in a store across the street.  

Anteaus Washington is charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft.  His bond was set at $10,000 and he is currently being held in the St Clair County Jail.
