ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) -  Metro commuters will enjoy an new train and bus station starting Monday morning.  The Grand Metrolink station reopened Monday and so did Metro Bus service to the Grand bridge.

When the old bridge closed so that another could be built, the Metrolink station was closed and three bus routes were rerouted.  The #70 Grand bus route happens to be the busiest in the entire Metro Bus system with customers taking about three million trips a year.

While the bridge was closed, improvements were made to Metro. New elevators and stairs connect the bus area to the Metrolink station below. There is now a transit plaza on Scott Avenue providing Metro customers a safe, well-lit space to wait for the train.  Plus, there is a new park and ride lot that can accommodate 58 cars.

Up top on Grand, bus riders will notice new seats, more lighting and new bus lanes for safer boarding.
