PIKE COUNTY, MO (KTVI) -Four of five men who escaped from the Pike County, Missouri detention center are back in custody.  All five escaped late Saturday night by removing a tamper resistant stainless steel shower panel, giving them access to a service area.

According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, three escapees were captured in Midwest City, Oklahoma around 2:00am Monday morning. They are brothers Jacob and Jason Darnell and Emanuel Chatman, all of Louisiana, Missouri.  Midwest City Police got a complaint that the three were asking for money near a convenience store.  They were found in a 2003 black Chevy pickup.

Joseph A. Verive, 49, has also been captured. He was taken into custody without incident on Pike 411 less than one mile from Hwy. 161 and is back in Pike County jail. Verive apparently stopped at an Amish residence Monday morning asking for food and a ride back to jail. Verive left when the home owner informed him he had neither a car nor a phone.

The Sheriff’s Department, Bowling Green Police, and the Missouri Highway Patrol all searched the area. At 11:43am, a call came in that Verive was spotted on Pike 411  where he was apprehended minutes later. Verive said he wanted to turn himself in. He said he had not eaten since the escape.

William John Thomas Wilkerson, Jr., 40, from Florissant, is still on the loose. Wilkerson was being held for failing to appear on a charge of stealing anhydrous ammonia.  Any one seeing him or knowing where he might be should call the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at 573-324-3202 or local law enforcement.
