ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A man is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer after an altercation at a bar.  St. Louis Police say that Thomas Boyer fell off his bar stool while drinking at a local establishment. Two off duty officers tried to help him up thinking that he was intoxicated. They walked him out of the bar and tried to get him a ride.

Police say that Boyer was uncooperative.  They took Boyer back into the bar and locked the doors.  He then began banging on the doors so hard that an employee thought they would break.  Boyer then went to the tailgate of his truck and told officers that he, “Had something for them.”

Police say that he pulled out a long wooden stick and went after one of the officers. Officers drew their weapons and told him to drop the sticl.  After much resistance Boyer was arrested by the officers.

Boyer is charged with Assault 2nd, Assault 3rd of a Law Enforcement Officer, Peace Disturbance and Resisting Arrest.
