ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI0-- A homeless man fell to his death Tuesday night inside the controversial New Life Evangelistic Center downtown.

Police say 46-year-old David Douglas fell over a stair railing and dropped several floors to his death at the homeless shelter.

City officials refuse to comment but 2 weeks ago they closed all the sidewalks around the shelter because the homeless had been sleeping on them and using them as toilets.

The city refuses to say whether this latest incident will lead to a new legal push to shut down the shelter run by the Reverend Larry Rice.
