14-Year-Old Shot In Possible Robbery Attempt

WELLSTON, MO (KTVI) - Wellston police continued to look for the one they suspect shot a 14-year-old overnight in a possible robbery attempt.

Officers admitted they were stumped hours after the young man was shot.  They said dispatchers got a 911 call just after 11:00 p.m. Thursday.  They got to Morton Avenue at Wells avenue and found the teen shot.  

Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital.  By 4:30 a.m. Friday, he was out of surgery.  He was alive.  But, he was in guarded condition.  Police would only say the investigation continued.

They needed help from the community to keep it going.  They did not have a description of the suspect.  They also did not have a motive.  Officers asked anyone who knew anything about the crime to call Wellston Police at 314-553-8010.
