The Giants are off to a quick start in the 2012 World Series. Third baseman Pablo Sandoval homered his first three times up to bat to lead San Francisco to an 8-3 win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night in the city by the bay.

Sandoval tied a World Series record with those three homers. Albert Pujols, Reggie Jackson and Babe Ruth have also had three home run games in the Fall Classic. Giants pitcher Barry Zito, who beat the Cardinals in Game 5 of the NLCS, tossed another gem in Game 1 of the World series, allowing just one run in five and two-thirds innings.

You can see Game 2 of the World Series right here on Fox 2. Our coverage begins Thursday night at 6:30 PM.
