Man Charged In Wash U. Robbery, Kidnapping

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KTVI) – A St. Louis man is behind bars after allegedly robbing and kidnapping a woman on the Washington University campus in August.  Authorities say William James Cobbins, 22, is the suspect.

Cobbins is charged with First Degree Robbery and Kidnapping for the abduction of a 23-year-old woman on August 28th.  Authorities say Cobbins approached the victim around 9:30 p.m. as she was getting into her car inside the campus’ Snow Way garage. Cobbins allegedly claimed to have a knife and made the woman drive to several ATMs and withdraw money for her account.

Cobbins was arrested on October 22.  He is being held on a $75,000 cash bond.
