You Paid For It: Alton Aldermen Pushes For Pay Cut

ALTON, IL. (KTVI) - A You Paid For It in the City of Alton with a strange twist.  A City Aldermen had the idea of cutting his and other Aldermen's pay and cutting out the free health insurance Aldermen  get at the city's expense.

He tried to get fellow Board Members to go along with slashing their $7,600 salary by 5 percent and getting rid of the health insurance since being an Alderman is a part time job.

In the end  the majority voted down his idea, You Paid For It questioned the head of the Board who opposed the cut in salary and benefits, saying he didn't see the need for it.
