(KTVI) – It’s time to say goodbye to the world’s most popular adult desk toy.  The popular magnetic Buckyballs are being discontinued.

The manufacturer says it’s taking the action because of what it calls the “baseless and relentless legal badgering” from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

In July, the consumer product safety commission sued the makers of Buckyballs saying they are hazardous to children.  Since 2009 there have been at least a dozen cases of children swallowing the powerful magnets.

A limited number of the toys are still available, but no more will be made after they sell out, the company said.
