Ohio State Pounds the Illini 52-22

The Fighting Illini lost their 11th consecutive Big Ten Conference game falling at Ohio State 52-22 on Saturday.  Illinois took a 3-0 lead on a Nick Immekus 43 yard field goal, but when the Buckeyes Carlos Hyde scored the first of his three touchdown runs to make it a 7-3 Ohio State lead, Illinois never took the lead again.

The lead grew to 31-6 at halftime for Ohio State. Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller threw two TD passes and ran for another score to pace the Ohio State attack. Illinois got scores from Jon Davis on a one yard touchdown run to make it a 38-14 game and an Ashante Williams 77 yard fumble return for a TD.

The loss drops the Illini to 0-5 in conference play and 2-7 overall.
