STOTTS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Federal investigators were arriving at the scene of a twin-engine plane crash in southwest Missouri that left two people dead.

The crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday four miles west of Stotts City in Lawrence County.

Sheriff Brad DeLay said investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration will be at the site Monday to begin investigating the crash.

The identities of the two people killed and the plane’s route had not been determined by Monday, DeLay said.

The plane went down in a wooded area and started a small fire but no other injuries were reported.
