ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) _ Investigators in Rockford are trying to figure out what led to a gunfight outside a night club that ended with one man dead.

The Rockford Register Star reports that police say one man was killed, three men were wounded and two men were critically injured in a car crash after the fight Sunday.

Police say 22-year-old Antonio Smart was shot and was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Authorities say he was in the car crash with the two men who were critically injured.

Police say officers responding to the San Jose Night Club found another man who’d been shot in the leg. Two other men later arrived at local hospitals with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
