EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) – Two men are jailed after being accused in a southwestern Illinois shooting that killed a 23-year-old East St. Louis man.

Prosecutors in Madison County have charged 49-year-old Gregory Crowder of East St. Louis and 24-year-old Derrick Coleman of Madison with first-degree murder and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Investigators with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis say Travon Bey was repeatedly shot Saturday at a home in Madison and died later at a hospital.

Crowder and Coleman don’t have listed home telephone numbers, and online court records don’t show whether they have attorneys.

Crowder was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 1985 in Sangamon County and in 2007 of unlawfully possessing a weapon by a felon in St. Clair County.
