ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The second of three unprecedented meetings will be held Thursday evening by the St. Louis police as they search for a new chief.  They are holding public forums to hear what citizens are looking for in the next city police chief.

Thursday's forum will be held at the Grbic Banquet Center, 4071 Keokuk at Meramec. It will run from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will be moderated by FOX 2's Bonita Cornute.  The first meeting took place Wednesday night at Harris Stowe University.
Those attending had a range of comments about what they want in a new chief.

Everything from the new chief having a master's degree to someone who can be an administrator and build bridged between blacks and white in St. Louis were all discussed.

Current chief Dan Isom is retiring on January 1, 2013.  The police board hopes to appoint a new top cop by Christmas.  Thirteen current members of the police department have applied for the job.

They will be examined by the police board and take a written essay test designed by the UMSL Criminology department.
