PEORIA, IL (WMBD) - This non-traditional church in Morton has it's neighbors saying, turn down the volume.

Chris Erickson lives next to the parking lot of elevate church and says the music can be overpowering.
Heidi Bolt from Elevate's leadership team says it isn't loud and the church only has service a few times a week.

Police records show during a 16 month period 55 calls were made for noise complaints at elevate. Nothing has come of the calls, which is why neighbors are angry the city isn't doing more.

Bolt says they've installed sound proofing panels as well as rearranged the stage to make the music quieter. She says they'll continue to do more but she wants the neighbors to accept that this is how they worship.
