Fairview Heights Man Charged With Attempted Burglary

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL. (KTVI) – The Fairview Heights Police Department arrested Michael W. Coburn, on December 4th, after getting a phone call from a citizen at the Longacre Ponds Apartment Complex.  The caller watched the suspect while he tried to pry open and break the glass to the rear sliding door to gain entry to the ground level apartment.  

The caller watched the suspect until officers arrived and confronted the suspect.  When officer tried to place Coburn under arrest, he resisted and was tasered by an officer.  Coburn offered no further resistance and was placed under arrest.

Wednesday, St. Clair County State Attorney, Brendan Kelly’s office issued a felony warrant for attempted residential burglary, his bond was set at $200,000.  He’s currently being held at the St. Clair County Jail.
