ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Administrators at the Fox School District don't want to talk about their new hire. They recommend that the school board hire School Board President Linda Nash's  daughter in law for the $65,000 job of Food Services Director.  NASH was not available Friday and Superintendent Dianne Critchlow wasn't talking.

The school district wanted the new  Food Services Director to have a nutrition certificate or be a registered dietician. Nash's daughter in law has neither.

Her qualifications are 17 years as manager of a fast foods restaurant and a high school diploma. They're giving her two years to get the certificate or become a registered dietician.

Administrators interviewed about twelve other applicants.  Todd Scott in human resources told me by phone that some of them may have had their nutrition certificate or been registered dieticians.  He claimed he couldn't remember.  He insisted Nash's daughter in law  was the best person for the job and claimed her family connections played no role in administrators recommending the board give her the job.

The board voted 6-0 to hire her.  Linda Nash  didn't vote.

No one at the district was available to talk to me on camera. But, if you'd like to have a thing or two to say about this deal. Call Fox School District Board President Linda Nash at 636-296-8000

Tell her what you think. After all, "You Paid For It".
