MARTHASVILLE, MO (KTVI) – Three young men in Marthasville Missouri are under arrest after a failed plot to steal money to buy marijuana was unraveled by local police.

Corey Reiling-Clark, Jacob Fuse and Jasper Meyer-Coates all face charges in the incident.  Police say their plan was elaborate, but their motive was merely to buy marijuana and have a party.

Police allege Reiling-Clark, who works at the S&R Convenience Store in Marthasville, concocted a plan to steal money from the store.  Surveillance tapes show Reiling-Clark had hidden his friend Meyer-Coates in a cooler in the store before closing.  After Reiling-Clark locked up for the night, Meyer-Coates emerged from the cooler and stole around $500 in cash and some checks left in a specific location by Reiling-Clark.  Once Meyer-Coates got the money and left the store, he was picked up by Reiling-Clark and Fuse and the three drove to another location where they divided up the money.  The three told police they then used it to purchase marijuana and have a party.

Police investigating the incident reviewed the surveillance tape and arrested all three shortly afterwards.  All three suspects are in custody in the Warren County Jail.
