ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The St. Louis police department wants to make sure people are having “fun without guns” this New Year’s Eve.   It has been a long-standing tradition to fire shots into the air to bring in the new year but it’s illegal.

St. Louis’ new police chief Sam Dotson gave the public service announcement which was posted to YouTube last week.
