Armed Man Killed By Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy

MADISON COUNTY, IL (KTVI)-A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy shot and killed a man north of Edwardsville Friday night.  The Sheriff’s Department says a resident on state Route 140 between St. James Road and Sawmill Road reported suspicious activity outside his home around 10:15pm. Deputies responded and were confronted by a man with a gun outside the residence. A deputy shot and killed the man. No other injuries were reported. 

The Sheriff’s Department has not released any names.  In accordance with sheriff’s department policy, Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.
