(KTVI) – This year’s flu outbreak is worse than recent years. And it has many people taking drastic measures to keep the virus from spreading.

Case in point, a youth soccer club in New York wants kids to stop ‘high-fiving’ and shaking hands at games.  At the end of a game, instead of high-fives, kids will give each other the elbow.

An email was sent home to parents making that recommendation. The email also asks parents to keep sick players home and encourage players to practice good hygiene, like hand washing.
