Blues Roll Red Wings 6-0 in Season Opener

Rookie Vladimir Tarasenko scored on his first two shots in the NHL to lead the Blues to a dominating 6-0 win over the Red Wings on Saturday night at the Scottrade Center. The Blues scored four power play goals and one shorthanded goal in the victory, that featured two goals in each period. The Blues scorers were Tarasenko with two, Chris Stewart also had two goals. The other Blues goals came from Patrik Berglund and T.J> Oshie. Oshie’s goal came with the Blues shorthanded. Jaroslav Halak stopped all 14 Detroit shots for his first shutout of the season. The Blues now take to the road with games at Nashville on Monday and Chicago on Tuesday. Over 20,00 Blues fans packed into Scottrade Center to watch the Blues successful debut.
