(KTVI) - While the country focused its attention on the nation's capitol,a group of students from the Parkway School District were front and center  for the inaugural  events.

Ninety students from the Parkway School District are in the nation's capital right now. It's part of a social studies field trip.

They spent the weekend sightseeing around D.C., making stops at the monuments and checking out different parts of the Smithsonian.

Monday, they stood outside, in the cold, in a crowd of hundreds of thousands to watch President Obama sworn into his second term of office.

The students called it a trip of a lifetime.

If you would like to see more about the students’ trip, they've set up their own Facebook page. They've been posting a lot of photos of their sightseeing adventures.
