ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) - The ups and downs of gas prices are more than annoying.  They can cause serious problems for anyone on a budget.

That includes limousine owners.  Ray Bixler is the owner of Presidential Limousines.

Bixler showed us his most popular vehicle, a stretch Camaro that`s more than 20 feet long.

"I probably talk 50 times a day to people about the Camaro," said Bixler.

He set the price for his Valentine`s Day specials before gas prices spiked.

"We do a $199 package, throw in a bottle of champagne in back and it last about 2 hours," explained Bixler.

He said some of his competitors went out of business 4-5 years ago when gas prices first started to spike.

He said the higher fuel costs coupled with customers having less spending money had a significant impact.

"We were scrambling sometimes wondering how we're going to make it," said Bixler.

Now he keeps careful watch over price trends and does his best to predict which way gas prices are going.

He's hoping like many others that prices will not hit $4 a gallon anytime soon.
