SPRINGFIELD, IL (KTVI)-- Illinois may be in worse financial shape than any other state, but that didn't stop Illinois Governor Pat Quinn from painting a rosy picture during today's state of the state address.

Quinn said the Illinois state pension system has to be reformed.

He also said same-sex marriage will soon become legal in Illinois, that tighter state gun control laws are necessary, and that Illinois needs to raise its minimum wage.

Illinois republican leaders say they oppose the minimum wage hike, but admit there aren't enough GOP votes to stop it.
