ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A bunch of burglaries on one street in North County has one homeowner bolting down his possessions.

It has some neighbors thinking about shooting first and asking questions later.

The man who owns this home says he’s been burglarized 3 times in the last 14 months.

The first time they kicked in his front door stole his TV and some change. He`s not alone.

There were seven burglaries on Chaucer Avenue in Breckenridge Hills in five months.

Dave Francwicz has been burglarized three times. He`s been doing a lot to protect his home.

He reinforced the back door jam. They kicked at it, failed and then smashed out a window.

Breckenridge police say they stepped up patrols.

Francwicz says stolen property and damages have cost him $2,000.

He says he’s trying something new, he`s posted a sign that says he tired of all the damages so the door is unlocked. But he wants the person who enters to know the alarm system will alert police the moment they enter.
