The Fighting Illini kept their win streak going, winning number five in a row, 64-59 over Penn State on Thursday night in Champaign, IL. The win gets Illinois back to even in the Big Ten Conference standings with a 7-7 record. Overall it was the Illini’s 20th win of the season under new head coach John Groce. D.J. Richardson led the way for Illinois with 18 points, while Brandon Paul scored 16 points.
