Cardinals top hitting prospect Oscar Taveras hit a first inning grand slam home run to lead the Cardinals to an 8-2 Spring Training win over the Miami Marlins in Jupiter, Florida. The Cards scored six first inning runs off St. Louisan Jacob Turner to put the Marlins in a 6-0 hole. The win did come with some downfall though. Cardinals starting pitcher Jake Westbrook left the game in the second inning after taking a comebacker off his knee. Carlos Beltran was hit in the toe by a Jacob Turner pitch and also left the game. The win was the fourth straight for the Redbirds in Spring Training play.
