ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Some families experiencing financial difficulty can now turn to food stamps to help them feed their pets. The pet food stamps will help struggling families keep their furry friends rather than turn them into a shelter.

The way it works: Private donors pay for the food deliveries on a website.   Recipients have to be pre-approved. Once they’re in the program they will have pet food delivered to their door at no cost.
