(KTVI) - Catholics were all abuzz when the white smoke started billowing out of the Sistine Chapel. Everyone was anxiously awaiting to see who the new leader of the Catholic Church would be.

Once Pope Francis emerged and the celebration subsided, the world realized this Pope held a number of "firsts."

He is the first Pope from South America and the first Jesuit Pope.  Saint Louis University college student Dustin Paluch talks about what he thought about the choice.
