COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI) – A TV station in Columbia, Missouri was evacuated for a short time because engineers feared the broadcast tower would topple. Heavy snow and high winds were considered dangerous enough that the the a build-up on the tower may send it falling into the building. All staff members were told to leave the station just before 10am on Sunday morning. This interrupted their coverage of the storm that is blanketing the area with snow.

The broadcast tower has been secured. An all-clear has been given. According to KOMU all employees have returned to work in the broadcast facility.
