What To Expect When Raising Backyard Chickens

(KTVI)- Ever thought about raising chickens in your own backyard? The Friends of the City of Richmond Heights is hosting a seminar on backyard chickens titled "What to Expect When You`re Expecting ... Backyard Chickens" on Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. at The Heights (8001 Dale Ave.). The event is free and open to everyone, not just Richmond Heights residents.

Guy Niere, a long-time chicken owner who teaches beginner and intermediate classes on backyard chickens at St. Louis Community College, will kick off the event with a 30-minute presentation. Niere worked has hard to get backyard chicken raising legalized in area cities including Richmond Heights and Black Jack. He is currently working with Brentwood residents on their legalization efforts.
