13th Annual St. Louis Marathon This Weekend

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Organizers expect about 10,000 participants to take part in the Go! St. Louis Marathon events this weekend. The marathon race course includes the Gateway Arch and stretches to Downtown Clayton. Traffic will be diverted along the marathon route Sunday starting at 7am.

This year the Half Marathon will be a highly watched event. Many American and international athletes are competing for a prize worth $10,000. This is the 4th largest US prize for a half marathon. More than $40,000 will be offered in prize money for both the marathon and half marathon.

Officials with the event expect around 25,000 people to take part in ten fitness events over the course of the weekend.
