ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- The FAA is delaying the closing of nearly 150 small airport control towers across the country.

The agency now says those towers will close on June 15th. They were supposed to shut down on Sunday.

Towers on the list included the St. Louis Regional Airport in Alton and the Columbia Regional and Branson Airports in Missouri.

The FAA says it will close the facilities on June 15th unless the airports decide to continue operations as non-federal contract towers.
