ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Students from all over the world are gathering at Washington University this weekend looking for solutions to some of the world`s most pressing problems, and they will be doing it along side some impressive VIP`s.

We are outside the athletic complex at Washington University where this weekend students from all over the world will be exercising their minds. And they will be doing it with the help of President Bill Clinton.

The Clinton Global Initiative University is an annual summit where students from around the world compete to attend by creating and then committing to community action projects dealing with issues like education, human rights, poverty and public health.

One of Friday`s featured speakers was St. Louis native Jack Dorsey, who founded twitter. He believes St. Louis has a vital role to play in solving some of the world`s most pressing problems thanks to research being done right now at local institutions, including Washington University.

There are a lot of VIP`s here. We saw former Congressman Dick Gephardt going in, of course the headliner is Bill Clinton himself, and Chelsea Clinton will be here too.

Saturday, the group will hear from actress and activist Jada Pinkett Smith and comedian Steven Colbert will be taping an interview with the former president to be shown next week on the Colbert report.
