David Perron scored on a nifty deflection to give the Blues a 1-0 first period lead. The game stayed tied until late in the third period, when the Coyotes Radim Vrbata scored on a power play.

In the shootout, Andy McDonald scored on the Blues first try. Blue goalie Brian Elliott stopped all three Phoenix shots in the shootout to preserve the 2-1 Blues win. Elliott again was a star in goal for St. Louis. He stopped 33 of 34 shots to get the win.

The Blues currently sit in the sixth position in the NHL Western Conference standings with 52 points. The Blues are right back at it Friday night when they host the Dallas Stars at 7:00 PM at Scottrade Center.
