CLARKSVILLE, MO (KTVI) - Authorities in Clarksville, Missouri are asking for volunteers to help with sandbagging efforts. Volunteers are needed at least through Friday evening and possibly longer, based on conditions.
The efforts will be assessed after the 24-hour period to determine if more volunteers are needed.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed to help sandbag along the Mississippi River. Anyone younger than age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, no one younger than age 13 is able to volunteer with this project.

Please note, this can be dirty work and includes heavy (especially with wet sand) lifting.

- Wear rain gear
- Wear warm layers

- Sturdy work boots or shoes
- Long pants
- Work gloves
- It's recommended that you have an updated tetanus shot
