CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) – Chesterfield is a shopping and entertainment center. It all began with a mall near the highway in 1976: Chesterfield Mall.  Then came Chesterfield Commons, known also as Boone's Crossing. Construction was completed in 2005 and it's said to be the largest outdoor strip mall in the United States.  On the interstate, at 60 miles an hour, it still takes you three minutes to drive across the whole complex.

One of the favorite breakfast spots in Boone's Crossing is the Original Pancake House. They were kind enough to bring the crew breakfast Friday morning. Every day, pancake batters are mixed by hand from scratch. They plan to open a second location in Ladue. They'll open their doors at the Colonial Marketplace off Ladue Road sometime in the next couple of weeks.

The city is providing a weekly update on its website to help eager shoppers keep track of what retailers are headed to the dualing outlet malls. The two malls are: St. Louis Premium Outlets and Taubman Prestige Outlets. Link: http://www.chesterfield.mo.us/city-projects.html .
