Newest Elephant At St. Louis Zoo Takes Her First Bath

FOREST PARK (KTVI)- The St. Louis Zoo has released footage of the first bath for the zoo’s newest edition to the Elephant herd.  The 251 pound calf took her first bath Sunday.

The St. Louis Zoo’s newest baby needs a name and the zoo wants you to vote.

The baby elephant was born late Friday night. She got her first bath Sunday.

The elephant care team came up with the names to choose from. You can vote for:

  • Cai (Pronounced “Ki”, rhymes with “Hi”) – means feminine
  • Violet
  • Willow
  • Harper
  • Priya (Pronounced “Pree-yah”) – means dear, beloved

You can vote for your favorite name through midnight, Sunday, May 5, 2013.

The winning name will be announced Monday, May 6, 2013.
