Schnucks Recalls Fresh Ground Sausage

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Schnuck Markets, Inc. has voluntarily recalled fresh ground sausage sold on Sunday, April 28 at its Hampton Village store at 60 Hampton Village Plaza, at Hampton and Chippewa.

A customer returned a package of ground sausage with pieces of tray packaging pad inside and that started the recall.

The recall includes all fresh ground sausage purchased Sunday, April 28 with a sell-by date of May 2, 2013.

Employees of the grocery store immediately removed all fresh ground sausage from the sales floor as a precaution. The grinder was cleaned and newly ground sausage has been put out for sale.

Any Hampton Village Schnucks customers who purchased fresh ground sausage on Sunday, April 28 with the May 2 sell-by date may return the product for a full refund or exchange.

Schnucks says this is an isolated incident and no other stores are affected.  There have been no reports of injury or illness.
