(KTVI) - The You Paid For It Team investigating high legal fees in the cities of Ellisville and Fairview Heights.

In Fairview Heights the Legal Bills jumped more than 5 times what they were when Alderman got rid of the City Attorney who hadn't charged the city more than $76,000 a year since he'd been there.

Instead Fairview Heights hired a big Chicago based law firm.

It charged the city $526,000 for just 9 months of work.

Fairview Heights bills are a lot more than many of the neighboring communities.

Even the Mayor admits they're out of hand.

The Alderwoman behind this deal Pat Baeske found a unique way to avoid my questions.

She ran in the ladies room.

Over in Ellisville I question all your legal expenses for the questionable impeachment of Mayor Adam Paul that could have been avoided.

Your bill may ultimately top $100,000 for the politically inspired effort to get rid of Mayor Adam Paul.

I grilled Ellisville Councilman Matt Pirrello who led the charge against the Paul.

He has a tough time answering my questions about why Ellisville taxpayers paid so much for this deal.
