ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- The city says the decrepit Cupples Station warehouse downtown will be demolished later this month because the roofless building became unstable during the winter.
The city says it would cost millions to stabilize the 113 year old building and that no developers are interested.
It's the only one of the Cupples warehouses downtown that has not been rehabbed.
The developer who purchased the property went broke.
The city is concerned about safety around the building. The roof on the building is completely gone.
City engineers say the wall supports have become too weak to support the structure. Demolition is scheduled for the end of the month.
