MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)-- Here's a follow-up on our story about the closing of Blast Fitness center in Maryland Heights.  Members want to know how to stop monthly payments for a gym that appears to be closed for good.

FOX 2 went back to the facility to see if consumers were hearing what we learned through an email from the club. The answer is no. But a spokesperson did confirm late Thursday afternoon that it is permanently closed.

A half a dozen people drove to the lot hoping things had returned to normal.

After all the sign on the door Tuesday indicated it was a temporary closing.

And that's the same information we received in an email from Blast Fitness Thursday.

Members are invited to go to the new facility on Jefferson.

But what they're really concerned about is the money they've paid for memberships, especially since they all joined or renewed within the past two months.

Again the closing is permanent.  Blast is offering a prorated refund on dues paid.  But if you have problems getting it, the attorney general’s office encourages you to file a complaint.
