ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A St. Louis couple claims the emotional distress their son suffered after being raped by a now defrocked priest, lead to his suicide and that the archdiocese is responsible.

The couple's lawyer filed a wrongful death suit Thursday. It states the suicide victim met father Bryan Kuchar between '99 and 2002 while attending a camp at Kenrick Seminary.

That is when the boy, about age 13, suffered the alleged abuse.

The suit claims the assault lead to depression and several suicide attempts before their son ultimately took his life at age 21.

In 2003, Kuchar was found guilty of a separate sexual assault from 1995.

He completed a three year sentence in 2006 and has been working at a local Starbucks.

Kuchar also worked at Rosati Kain High School, St. Timothy Church in Affton and St. John the Baptist in south city.
