Jason Motte Will Have Tommy John Surgery

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The St. Louis Cardinals' closer Jason Motte will be having Tommy John surgery. He will be having the surgery on Monday.

He dis not feel comfortable after a throw on Friday. He will miss the 2013 season.

On March 24th 2013 he was shut down for a week with pain in his right elbow. Motte was diagnosed with a mild muscle flexor strain in his right (pitching) arm.

Mitchell Boggs will move in as the Cardinals closer in Motte’s absence.
