(KTVI)-- Do you know the history of Mother’s Day?  The day was founded in 1907 by a West Virginia woman as a tribute to her mother. Anna Marie Jarvis was in her 40's when she quit her job and started the Mother's Day International Association in 1912.

She had won over Congress and President Woodrow Wilson signed a congressional resolution declaring the second Sunday in May as a day to honor mothers in 1914..

Jarvis, herself, never married and never became a mom.  She spent the rest of her career fighting the exploitation of Mother's Day by commercial interests.
