Carlos Beltran drove in four runs on three hits. The big night by the former Met helped the Cardinals crush the Mets 10-4 on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. Beltran hit his tenth homer of the season. A blast into Big Mac Land. The offensive outburst came in handy for a young lefty making his first ever big league start. John Gast picked up the win in his major league debut. Gast pitched 6 innings giving up 4 runs. All came in the sixth inning.
The Cardinals now sport baseball’s best record at 25-13.
