TOWN & COUMTRY, MO. (KTVI) - The third round of the Senior PGA Championship was highlighted by a rain delay lasting longer than 90 minutes. Shortly after noon, Saturday, play was suspended due to steady rainfall at Belle Rive Country Club.

Before the delay, St. Louisan, Hale Irwin was 2-under par. After the rain delay, Irwin struggled and double-bogeyed the 17th hole, and bogeyed the 18th.  Irwin sits at three over par heading into the final round of play on Sunday.

For St. Louis native, Jay Delsing, he was thrilled to make the cut at 4-over par on Friday to extend his Championship weekend at Belle Rive. Delsing had surgery, removing a disc from his back and hasn't played in PGA competition in over two and a half years. Delsing shot a 2-over par Saturday, mooving him to 6-over on the tournament.  However, Delsing is encouraged by how his body is holding up over the long weekend, and feels like he is getting stronger the more he plays.

Bob Gaus made the cut Friday at 3-over par.  Gaus was even heading into the 18th hole Saturday, but a bogey sent him back over par. The St. Louisan is 1-over heading into the final round, but like his St. Louis counterparts, is really enjoying the extended championship weekend experience.
