It doesn’t sound like a winning formula, but Adam Wainwright gave up 12 hits en route to his seventh win. Wainwright worked eight innings as he improved his record to 7-3 with the Cardinals beating the Royals 6-3 in Kansas City on Monday. Wainwright gave up 11 singles as he kept the Royals in check for the most part. Yadier Molina was the hitting star driving in four runs, including a two run homer. The Cardinals are a major league best 16 games over .500 at 33-17.
